Something new

This past week was an adventure. It started off Sunday night with tornado warnings, which we were unaware of. Monday and Tuesday, as the Tropical Storm Debby blew our way and covered us in rain we were also on tornado watch. Wednesday we learned that there was a tornado that had touched down, not even a mile away from us sunday night. Samuel got to go and clean up the debris from the tornado where it hit on the ranch, since it was in the unit he was working on. Samuel works through all the rain and comes home drenched each night. At least when there is lightning the ranch hands go for cover. Apparently they have had cowboys struck be lightning here and lost cattle to lightning as well. It is a very big change from what we are use to...a new adventure!

I am not good at playing catch up when it has been so long since I last blogged. We are alive and well in Florida!! We made it after 3 long days of driving. I was blessed enough to not have to worry about driving, just being a passenger and taking care of Madaline. Samuel's dad jumped in and saved us so I did not have to drive. I am still saying prayers of gratitude for that. We were welcomed by many tree frogs that covered our house when we pulled up and 2 lizards that spent the night with us inside. The next morning we unloaded as fast as we could so we could celebrate Dad parry's birthday. To celebrate we went into town to get a few items we needed and to go to the beach! It was pouring down rain, but that did not stop anyone. Samuel, his dad and all the kids jumped out of the truck and ran down the beach looking for shells in the rain. I stayed back with Madaline. To dry off, we just went shopping. When we were dry we went out to dinner to celebrate dad parry's birthday. It was a long, fun day. The next morning we went down to the Ranch visitor center. They have missionaires that live there and give you all the info on the ranch and guided tours. We were able to squeeze a small tour in before dad had to leave for the airport. On our tour we saw soft shelled turtles, alligators and other fun things. We did not want dad parry to leave! This past week has been very long-I will not lie! Unpacking is never fun. The kids can hardly wait to get out the door and play--They LOVE having room to run around in! We were able to go back to the beach when the kids could actually play in it, go fishing a few times, ride horses and relax! I do not have many pictures, because my camera died and the ones I do have, I was able to get with our phone. Once I get a working camera again, I will have alot more to share.
