Pecan Trees

There are hundreds of Pecan trees and Pecan Orchards all over the Mesilla Valley here in Las Cruces. It is a big source of income for many. Right next to where Samuel goes to ride is 1 of many Pecan Orchards. The kids and I have taken many walks thru it and collected Pecans that have fallen to the ground. Last week my kids raked up as many leaves as they could get( there are not many leaves falling yet, since they do not harvest the Pecans until after Thanksgiving or Christmas depending on the year, not to mention the leaves themselves are not even that nice of a leaf, they are hard and can be poky)They raked up leaves and walked for at least an hour in circles going everywhere trying to find more to make a pile big enough to jump in. They had a blast with what they could find.

Waiting for her 4 month shots....

I took Madaline in for her 4 month shots today...we were only at the Doctors office for 2 hrs!!!! waiting! I was bored and started to mess around with the camera on the phone. Madaline was laughing and I wanted to capture it, but of course as soon as I put the camera in her face she kept trying to focus on it and not laugh.

Cowhands in training

We know a very nice coupld here in Las Cruces who have Horses and let the kids come and ride to get some energy out. It is such a nice break for them to be able to get outside and just play all day in the dirt! ride horses and just be kids!!!!

"It is Halloween, isn't it"

Samuel and I found ourselves asking each other if it really was Halloween as we took the kids around and NO one was opening their doors! In our apartment complex there are over 200 apartments. Only 6 opened their door! So, we took our kids to a subdivision right behind where we live and found a few more doors for them to knock. They had a great time going out, even if not many people opended their doors. Those who did compensated and would dump their bowl in their bag or give them a handful! it was crazy.
